I’m all about keeping it simple when it comes to marketing. Here are five easy marketing moves to help you double your revenue right away!
1 Invest in Search Engine Optimization.
Your website needs to come to the top of Google when people search for key terms in your industry. 85% of people search Google before they do anything, whether it’s buying a house, deciding where they’ll go on vacation or searching for an HVAC company to fix their air conditioner. You name it, people are searching for it. When you invest money in an SEO strategy that gets your company’s website to the top of Google, it’s guaranteed that you’ll get calls and leads coming in. These leads will be qualified because if someone is searching for your service, they already want what you have to offer.
2 Start a referral program.
There’s no better lead than a lead who comes from a trusted source. For this reason, you need to have an influx of referrals from current or past happy clients. Much of our business at D2 comes from happy clients referring their friends and family members to us. These referrals are likely to do business with you because the recommendation is coming from a trusted source. If you don’t have a referral program in place, this is an affordable way to increase your bottom line using your current or past customers.
3 Take advantage of digital marketing.
You need a presence in the digital space, period. Whether you like social media or not, you can’t beat the reach you can get online. You can reach thousands of people with a simple post, which is a much quicker and more effective way to reach new clients than traditional media. Using social media allows you to connect with your audience and build familiarity. Only good can come from building up your business’s social media presence.
4 Create a seamless lead nurture process.
It’s important to have a great system in place to nurture the leads that you’ll get from Google, referrals and social media. Nurturing leads is essential because not everyone will buy the first time you speak to them, especially if your product or service is expensive. I’ve had people come back to D2 and want to work with us a year after I first reached out to them. A great lead nurture process is email marketing. A client needs to know you, like you and trust you in order to buy from you, and this process takes time. An email sequence helps that potential client become more familiar with you and if you can offer them some value (like in an informative monthly newsletter), they’ll grow to trust you, too.
5 Always upsell.
The easiest way to increase your revenue is to get more money from the customers who are already paying you. What else can you offer them that will make their lives easier? You need to have a front-end offer to get them in the door, and a back-end offer once they’re there. At D2, we use website design as a front-end offer to get customers in the door. Once we create a website for them, they need something to drive traffic to the website. That’s when we pitch social media content posting, search engine optimization and digital marketing as our back-end offers.
